iPhone 13 charging issues after iOS 16 update

Ever since updating to iOS 16, my iPhone 13–not even a year old—will not fully charge. Most days it gets to about 60-65% and stops. This morning, after being plugged in for four hours, it hadn’t charged at all and read 7%.

I’m using the exact same charger and outlet I always have. Worked perfectly before updating to 16. When I plug in, the phone vibrates and I get the “charging” animation, but the battery value doesn’t change. Help.

First try a Forced restart

Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK). and try to charge.

If no better

Backup, restore to factory,  and   test, then restore from backup:-

(If the phone needs attention you will have to do this anyway)

If you can import your media to Photos or iTunes in a computer and copy important documents to a cloud server it will give you some resilience in case the restore from backup fails,

(2)          Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

(3)          Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

If the problem remains do item 2 then set up as new manually and test again

If the problem remains get a warranty repair
