Apple Music won't play randomly in my playlist despite choosing that option

I always select random and repeat one song only when listening to my playlist on Apple Music via AirPods Pro or PowerBeats, PowerBeats Pro, or Beats Solo3. Then when I get tired of that song, I go to the next track. But it always or often plays the songs in the same order that appears on the playlist. I am not sure why it does this.

Hey there, mileena,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

We have some steps we'd like to offer that will help isolate and troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing with the shuffle feature in Apple Music. Try each of the steps in order, stopping to test between each. If a step resolves the issue, you can stop:

  1. Close the Music app: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  3. Check for, and install, any available iOS updates: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue continues, please provide us with the following additional details, which will help us continue troubleshooting:

• Does the issue occur when you are asking Siri to shuffle the songs, or when you select the option manually in the Music app?

• Do you get any error messages? If so, what exactly do they say?

• What is the exact iOS version installed on your device, as shown in Settings > General > About?

Best!
