Sharing Appleid and iCloud accounts

My wife and I share all computer services, calendar, contacts, email, documents, photos, etc so only use one Appleid and iCloud account. I keep reading that we shouldn't do that although I don't understand why not. What are the adverse consequences of sharing these and if we set up individual Appleid's and iCloud accounts what is impact on items we currently share and want to continue to do so?

iMac, OS X 10.11

As you have read it isn't usually recommended, but if you want to share everything, even including the recent call list on iPhones, and understand that if one of you deletes a photo or contact, etc. from your device it will also delete from the other, I can't think of another reason not to.

Setting up individual IDs and getting all devices data back to the way that you want them without one of you losing data and having a difficult time getting it back is not an easy thing to do.
