iPad OS 16 on iPad Pro 2nd gen

My iPad Pro 11inch 2nd generation is stuck on IPADOS 15.7.

it says it’s up to date. Even when I restarted it even when I connect it to the MacBook and check for software.

i know this is a supported device, why is this happening?

The message is accurate. iPad OS 16 will not be released until October.
