Gmail Spam not showing in iOS Mail app

My Gmail spam doesn't show up in the native Apple iOS app and I can't figure how to get it to appear. It always appears empty, but when I check the web app, there are usually several dozen items. I like to be able to check those on my phone as well. I have an outlook account set up with Gmailify and those spam/junk items do appear in the iOS app just fine. It's only the Gmail's spam that doesn't. Is there a setting I can change? Could it be because it's called "junk" in iOS and not "spam" like it is in Gmail - and that's causing a broken link?

Hey there Kévon,

While you may need to reach out to Gmail about this, we certainly want to help rule out some possible causes first:

  1. If you access your account on the Gmail website, does your spam folder appear there?
  2. Does it in fact show a 'Junk' folder for your Gmail account in the Mail app on your iPhone?
  3. If you're using a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.0.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
  5. As you mentioned still seeing the spam/junk folder for other accounts in the Mail app, it does seem to point towards your Gmail account as the cause. Have you already tested removing it, then adding it back to your iPhone?

Cheers!
