Apple AirPlay Issues - Sound but No Picture

Ever since I did an macOS update to Monterey 12.6, my MacBook Air will no longer connect properly to my LG TV. It appears to connect, but the TV screen remains black although the sound is now currently coming through the TV.

I've looked at many prior 'solutions' online that suggest checking that both are on the same network, unplugging the TV for a minute and so on, but nothing has worked at all. The end result is always the same - I get sound but no picture.

Prior to the update, everything was fine and worked effortlessly and so since the only thing that was modified was the MacBook, I assume that it is the issue.

Does anyone have an updated solution? Or should I just get a super long HDMI cord?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Great job on the troubleshooting you've done so far. We'd like to have you follow the steps per the Apple Support article: If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device - Apple Support

"After each step, see if you still need help.

Make sure that your AirPlay-compatible devices are turned on and near each other.
Check that the devices are updated to the latest software and are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Restart the devices that you want to use with AirPlay or screen mirroring.

If you're prompted to enter a password, you might have restrictions turned on, or you might need to adjust your AirPlay password settings."

Also, you will need to make sure that the firmware on your LG TV is up-to-date as well. You will need to contact the manufacturer for assistance with that.

I tried all of this a couple of times, but no luck.

Any other suggestions?
