Apple Watch Ultra is dim? Not as bright as previous watch.

Hi all!

Looking to see if it’s just me or there’s others out there with the same issue.

I got my brand new Apple Watch ultra and it’s much more dim than my Apple Watch SE.

When in the pitch dark, it’s super dim! But if I go into the settings to change the brightness. Between level 1-2 it changes by 30 ish percent, then from 2-3 it hardly changes at all, maybe by 5%.

Called apple support and they got me to shine my iPhone flashlight on it and for sure, it light up very bright! Looked Amazing like it did in the Apple Store, take the brightness off it. Bam it’s back to dark again.

Apple support said it should be lighting up in the dark and not going dimmer. Then told me to take it back for a refund or exchange.

But before I do I’m hoping someone else might have the same issue or know how to fix?

No problem with my Ultra.

Does this happen during daytime outside of your sleep hours specified in Focus>Sleep in the Settings on your phone?

During sleep hours the screen dims.

If still problem then try:

Resetting the watch

Depress and hold the crown and side button until the Apple logo appears

Next would be to unpair the watch and re setup the watch as new and not from backup

Last return the watch
