Airpod Pro 2 Microphone not working

I’ve had this issue with all my AirPods I’ve had (first gen, airpod pros 1 and now airpod pros 2). When calling, FaceTiming or using any app that is requires the microphone, my iPhone will automatically use it’s built in microphone rather than the ones in my AirPods themselves. The only time the AirPods microphone works is if I say “hey Siri”. I have changed the microphone settings in the AirPods to automatic, left and right and that still does not fix the issue. I have reset my AirPods, have the latest iOS, reset my network settings, changed my call audio routing to my AirPods and none of that has fixed the issue. The Airpod pro 2 just got delivered yesterday and I’m using them for the first time so the microphone is not broken either.

Is there a setting in my phone I am unaware of, I just want this fixed because everything I find does not help. Again, when calling or FaceTiming my phone will only use the iPhones built in microphone and not my AirPods microphone.

Greetings Nicklandreth,

Since this issue has persisted across multiple AirPods, the next step will be to Contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Take care.
