iPhone 11 won't back up to cloud or computer. Have tried all generic suggestions! What else could be causing this? Any way to fix??

I have tried every suggestion, I cannot get my iPhone 11 to back up via iCloud or my Mac. I have the same issues on multiple computers. I have a 2nd phone that backs up no problem on these devices. Everything is up to date. I'm wondering if an app or file is messing up my OS by chance? Does anyone have a deeper understanding of what could be causing the OS on my phone to not want to allow a backup to happen? One more clue is my MBP and MacBook Air can see my phone when connected, but when those computers are in safe mode, they cannot see it. Both ways my phone knows it's connected.

What seems to happen when you try backing up via the Mac or iCloud? For example, are you getting any error messages? If so, please be sure to list the error here as that may help to determine the best path forward.


This page can provide a handful of steps to take for issues backing up to iCloud: If you can't back up to iCloud - Apple Support


For example, if the alert just notes the backup couldn't be completed, the steps here may help:

1. In iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Check that you're connected to Wi-Fi. 
2. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update. Download and install any available updates for your device. 
3. Try to back up on another Wi-Fi network.
4. Check to make sure that you have enough iCloud storage for the backup
5. If you still need help, contact Apple Support.


Additionally, ensure the iPhone is using the latest available iOS version (iOS 16.0.2 or iOS 15.7): Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


If there are any VPNs installed on the iPhone or the Mac, or any security/networking apps, try temporarily uninstalling them and try again.

I have talked w/ support 3 times. After exhausting what they can do, they sent me to an Apple store and they plugged it in as I do and just confirmed what I already knew. They showed me the temporary icloud upload and sent me on my way. That upload didn’t work. There has got to be something know to cause issues w/ the iOS that keeps it from connecting or backing up?

It says “cannot backuo because an error occured”. When I click “back uo now” it just sits on the spiraling initializing sequence but doesn’t go anywhere or begin to backup. Same issue w/ icloud and cpu. I have enough space on my cpu and in icloud. I have updated all devices to latest iOS and OS. I have restarted all devices. I went to Apple store and they showed me the temporary iCloud backup option for when they release new phones. Even that backup won’t work. That error says “the latest backuo could not be completed” in Settings. No vpn or security apps installed. Any other thoughts?
