How do I let users download free apps directly from the app store using their managed appleid? Will they need to use their personal appleid on the computer? Or can they just use the managed appleid? Thanks.

Thank you so much for the information. It is a business Apple ID. I do not see where in the admin area to allow downloads from the app store without giving them close to admin permissions. They should be able to sign in with personal Apple ID, however I don't see where to turn this on or off either.

Some are allowed, some aren't and would require a system administrator to allow downloading apps from the App Store. If they are school or business Apple ID's they may need permission to sign in with a personal Apple ID as well. If the permissions aren't granted, signing in to a different Apple ID to bypass a restriction may not be something you'd want to advise anyone to do without approval.
