How do I let users download free apps directly from the app store using their managed appleid?

How do I let users download free apps directly from the app store using their managed appleid? Will they need to use their personal appleid on the computer? Or can they just use the managed appleid? Thanks.

Hey green_day_today,

We can help out with your question, but we may not have a specific enough answer without further details. The permissions can vary according to what type of managed account you're referring to. Some are allowed, some aren't and would require a system administrator to allow downloading apps from the App Store. If they are school or business Apple ID's they may need permission to sign in with a personal Apple ID as well. If the permissions aren't granted, signing in to a different Apple ID to bypass a restriction may not be something you'd want to advise anyone to do without approval.

If this is a managed ID, such as if parental permissions are needed to download apps, you can change the settings by following the steps we've linked for you below.

Set up content and privacy restrictions in Screen Time on Mac

We hope that helps answer your question.

Cheers!
