carplay not working on iphone 14

So, CarPlay is not working on my new iPhone 14 pro. Plug in the usb it connects for about 5 minutes then disconnects. Switched USB cords. Have checked settings, including Siri. Tried to use it in two different vehicles. Same issue.

first photo shows it connected. Second is a few minutes later.

my husbands iPhone 11 is working fine and it’s running the same OS. He gets his new phone in a few days. Hope this isn’t an issue with 14!
