That is subjective.


It is always recommended to stay current in both hardware and software, certainly makes it easier moving forward, not to mention bug fixes, security updates...etc



The current stable release of Monterey including bug fixes, is macOS 12.6

It all depends on if you are happy with your current workflow on this MacBook Model?


I have a new M1 MacBook Pro and love using it for most things.


I also have an older MacBook Pro 15" (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) Hooked up to a widescreeen 32" Monitor in my home office and it is fine to use as well. ZOOM calls etc.


Both machines serve me well, overall I like the size, weight, speed, features of the M1 better
