iBook App Font Size

I'm trying to read a pdf book on the iBook app. I need to change the font size. When on click on the "little A big A" all it does is change the screen brightness. Can someone help please?

pdfs don't have the option to change point size unlike books that are programmed to ie it can't be changed.

Dimming screen in IBooks Is there a mechanism for dimming the font when reading on the iBooks app? Apple seems to have done a redesign of iBooks and you can no longer dim the font/letters on the page (or I can't figure out how). I realize that I am able to adjust the background to black, light, etc. but the letters on the page are so incredibly bright, particularly in the darker background fonts. You used to be able to dim the entire page so that it was not so intense, particularly when you are trying to read at night and wind down. the app changed, and the loss of this feature is significant. Font and Brightness. Prior to the lates update the A button could be used to adjust brightness and font size. With the update the A button has disappeared. Where is it ? I know I can adjust these things using settings. But the only time I routinely make these adjustments is in iBooks. So to lose this facility is a pain in the neck.

Ibook font size I read from previous conversations that the iBook I purchased is in PDF format and font size cannot be changed. Can I change to another format?
