HomePod Mini is no longer playing ambient sounds. I’ve tried several different ways of asking but it just plays various playlists now from Apple Music instead of from the HomePod’s ambient sound collection.
This seems to have started after the latest HomePod software updates that came out along IOS 16. Anyone been able to get the HomePod to play ambient sounds lately?

Working here on iOS 16 using the standard commands from Play audio using Siri on HomePod - Apple Support:
Play Ambient Sounds
You can play background soundscapes when you need to focus, relax or fall asleep. Listen to rain, forest, ocean, white noise, night, fireplace or stream sounds.
You might try rebooting/power cycling your router and HomePod and see if things are any better after that.

Oddly enough I got it to work with asking it to play Forest Sounds just now. I don’t usually listen to that one as I am partial to ocean.
At least now I can get it to activate by asking it to play Forest and then as a work around double tap the top of the HomePod to cycle through to ocean.
