How to hide future reminders?

How to hide reminders that are set for a future date, so they only appear on the day the reminder is set for?

Hiding completed reminders in calendar I like the idea of the reminders app and calendar merging reminders and everything for your day showing up in one place. Is there any way to hide completed reminders in the calendar after you’ve marked them as completed? In the reminders app you have the option to hide completed but I can’t find anything similar in the calendar app. Personally, I don’t need to see things I’ve done and I think showing completed items unnecessarily takes up a lot of screen space.

Is there a way to only show a reminder on the day it? I use Reminders as my daily to do list. I'd like to have a way to mark off the things I've done but not have the show again until the next day. Is this possible?
