Two names on recent calls

After upgrading to iOS16 my recent calls (icluding missed calls) show two totally unrelated names at the same time. Please help!

Hello cmarquezv,

Let's go ahead and restart your iPhone using the steps from this resource: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support A restart can sometimes help address odd behaviors.

Should that still persist, are you syncing your contacts with multiple accounts? You can check on that under the Settings > Contacts > Accounts menu.

Additionally, when you check the entries for those individuals in the Contacts app, do they happen to have any matching contact details?

Let us know, and we'll keep moving forward from there.

This is pretty much the same issue I have... Good to know I'm not alone with this. Hopefully an upcoming update to iOS will resolve this problem.

I honestly get so few calls that it's more of a curiosity than anything else for me. But, I hope it get's fixed. I've submitted feedback here:

I'm not, however, going to take the time to try to contact someone in person. Not that big a deal to me. Yet.

Hello Chuck,

Thanks for your reply.

I did the reset as indicated in the first bullet but it didn't fix the issue.

I also checked the Contacts settings and only iCloud contacts are visible. No other account is sharing contact info.

Their bullet, no matching or duplicated contact details. The weird thing is that the two connected contacts in Recents have nothing to do one to the other.

Cheers!

For what it's worth, I've been seeing this in the last couple of days as well. Mostly, I'm seeing it as calls from numbers not in my contacts being paired with contacts. However, this morning, I have one that's a Teams call that shows two contacts, the one who actually made the call to me and a random other contact who I haven't been in communication with in over six months.
