I have an Apple ID with a gmail.com address. I have finally created an ICloud account. I’m unable to change my Apple ID to my ICloud address.Help

I’m trying to change my Apple ID from my gmail account to my ICloud email. Why can’t this be done?

If you just created the iCloud account, it is a separate Apple ID. Apple IDs can't be merged.
