Trading Apple Watch

Hello, I’m not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but I’ve been wanting to trade my Apple Watch 7 for the bigger size/version but was told I wasn’t able to do that until a new series of the Apple Watch is released. Since the Apple Watch 8 recently came out, would I be able to now trade my smaller size Apple Watch 7 for the bigger size Apple Watch 7?
