Recover messages that weren’t backed up on icloud
Is there a way to recover deleted attachments that weren’t saved to iCloud

Regarding recovering deleted messages, the steps below require iOS 16. You can view this information and more in the article here: Delete and recover messages on your iPhone or iPad
"Retrieve a deleted message or conversation
- In Messages, tap Edit.
- Tap Show Recently Deleted
. - Choose the conversations with the messages you want to restore, then tap Recover.
- Tap Recover Message or Recover [Number] Messages.
You need iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, or later to recover deleted messages and conversations. You can only recover messages and conversations that you deleted within the last 30 to 40 days."
If you ever saved the attachments from a message conversation, you may find them in Photos. View photos in the Photos app on iPhone
However, prior to iOS 16 and without a backup it's not possible to recovery deleted attachments.
