Unable to add both phone and watch battery widget to Lock Screen in ios16

The widget options normally only lists my Apple Watch battery widget in the Batteries Status options on the Lock Screen, but not the phone. However, when my phone battery gets below a certain % (usually below 20% but its not consistent), it automatically switches to display the phone battery status widget. I can never see both the phone and the watch under the battery status widgets.

Not sure if this is a bug or by design to allow only 1 device’s battery status widget on the Lock Screen? I’m using a 13 pro max.

"How to add widgets to your Lock Screen

With iOS 16, you can add widgets to your Lock Screen to get information at a glance — for example, the temperature, air quality, battery level, or upcoming calendar events.

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears, then tap Customize.
  2. Tap the box above or below the time to see the widgets that you can add to your Lock Screen.
  3. Tap or drag the widgets that you want to add.
  4. Tap Done.

If there’s not enough room for a new widget, you can tap the Remove button  to remove a widget and make room for the one you want to add."

You should be able to add a widget for each battery status listed. If this isn't the case, contact Apple Support for further help.

Cheers!
