Screen customization isn’t available.

I press on my screen to customize it, but it only says to create a new Lock Screen. I can’t customize my existing one. Am I missing something?

Lock Screen and Hone screen I want the ability to have my Lock Screen and Home Screen be different. This latest update took that away and I am very disappointed. Even when you select “customize” for one, both screens update to the selected image. Updates should provide MORE flexibility and option, not take it away! How to customize lock screen without creating a new one? (iOS 16) I have a wallpaper that isn't in my camera roll anymore. I can't find it full res. So, rather than making an entirely new one, I want to edit that one (or duplicate it to make it "new" and editable. But as I'm sure people have seen, there is a bug where the button to customize your original wallpaper brings up a pop up option to add a new one, rather than the customization menu for that lock screen. How do I edit my wallpaper so as to remove the obnoxious bold time and add new widgets, or duplicate it to make it a "new" and therefore editable one to overcome whatever software limitations Apple was incapable of or unwilling to rectify? Yes, I know that it is unfortunately possible to long press on the lock screen to get an inconsistent GUI to the one in Settings. No, it does not solve my problem. Yes, I have read Personalize your iPhone Lock Screen - Apple Support and multiple other threads on this topic. No, it does not solve my problem.

Lock Screen Why can’t I just change the Lock Screen image without needing to also change the home screen image? This part of whatever update this rolled out on never made sense to me.

Thats most likely your iOS 15 lock screen that migrated. You cannot edit that one, you will first have to create a new one
