Fonts not displaying correctly

i am issues with fonts not displaying correctly. Some of my system fonts are not displaying correctly, the characters show up as boxes with an X in them. These look to be system fonts. How do I fix this issue?

First thing to try is to go to the Font Book app and do File > Restore Standard Fonts and restart.

If that doesn't help, post a screen shot here of what you are seeing, using an Apple app to display the problem font.

I did do the File > Restore Standard Fonts in Font Book as suggested, but that did not work.

I got the fonts to display correctly. I had a backup of all my fonts on a CD from many years ago. I replaced my fonts with a copy of these backup fonts and everything looks good now. I also did the File > Restore Standard Fonts in Font Book again to clear out any old fonts being used.

Thank you for the help.
