iOS 16 picture deletion

Hello, I installed iOS 16 and ever since then, picture I have sent/received in iMessage have disappeared. I can find them if I scroll through the conversation but when I click on the contacts name to quickly see just the photos sent, some are missing

Hey chrisman86,


We understand you're no longer seeing photos when you click on the contact's name in the Messages app. Make sure that "Show Contact Photos" is enabled in Settings > Messages. This shows photos of your contacts in Messages. If its enabled, toggle it off and then back on.


If you continue to experience the issue, restart the iPhone by following the steps below:


  1. "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo
