In iOS 16 I no longer see the battery percentage aka how much it’s at when charging anymore. Is there something to turn that on with?

The charging percentage that you were able to briefly see on the Lock Screen under the time has gone away in iOS 16. You will have to swipe down from the right upper corner to get to the control center to see the percentage.
That screen area is now dedicated to widgets. If you customize your home screens and add widgets, they appear under the time.
