I have apple tv in Sweden but no English subtitles for several programs including Force Majeure, a film that won Cannes but I do not understand any of the languages offered in the menu - all scandi - no option for English....

Add a language

You can add multiple languages so that you can change the primary language or switch between different languages when the keyboard appears onscreen.

1. Open Settings  on Apple TV.

2. Go to General > Apple TV Languages, then select Add Language.

3. Select a language from the list, then confirm whether it will be the primary or an additional language.

Languages you add appear in preferred language order in the list. This means apps will use the first language listed, and keyboards will appear in your preferred language order.

Note: Siri and dictation may or may not be available, depending on the language you select. For more information, see the Apple Support article Use Siri on your Apple TV.

After you add a language. select the Language button  when the keyboard appears onscreen to change to a different language.
