Pasting highlighted & copied text to Facebook fails via “Edit + Paste”… but succeeds with “Command + V”
“Edit + Paste” continues to work elsewhere… but not on Facebook!
Is this my problem… or is it a new “feature” (i.e., impediment) dreamed up by Facebook?
Facebook and WhatApp bot appear to have issues with copy and paste when performed from a Robust Text Editing Application like MS Word and the such.
Performing the same action from a less Robust Text Editing application like TextEdit does not appear have this issue

Regrettably... my starting point is with text composed in "TextEdit"! I have also attempted to compose in "Word".
My procedure has been for years to compose messages in "TextEdit", then use the Mac's "Edit" feature... and then "Post" to Facebook.
This procedure has worked for many years quite reliably, but it now fails. Only by accident did I discover that "Command + V" will work!
Why "Copy + Paste" now fails makes no sense. This procedure continues elsewhere... including "Messenger" when its disconnected from Facebook!

Interestingly, I find that I'm unable to post my response to you (composed in TextEdit + Edit + Copy + Paste). If "Command + V" works it will appear below...
It’s near-impossible to reach anyone at Facebook who might be able to provide a meaningful response to why traditional Apple’s “Edit-Copy-Paste” is no longer accepted when the post is destined for Facebook!
(However, “Command + V” continues to work… for now).
(I’m assuming that this problem is general, and afflicts other iMacs similarly… not just mine 🤔)
If you can provide a truly-receptive address for Facebook, it would be greatly appreciated! But, that’s unlikely as Facebook hides maddeningly well!
