Can’t see iPhone music in iTunes

Have seen similar questions but no real answers. Have a pc which was recently removed from a company domain. Since then the music on my iPhone does not appear in the music pane in itunes, though iTunes does recognize that there are 4.56 gb of music in the summary page when clicking on the phone icon. This would seem to be some sort of indexing issue. If anyone has a solution please advise. Thanks
