sounds delayed in each ear by a few ms but sounds amazing, almost a enhanced spatial audio/8d sound. A lot of people have experienced the same thing but there is no information on why this occurs or how to recreate it. Will go back to normal sound once put back in the case, I would use this setting all the time.

Also, are the AirPods connected to an iOS or Mac device when this is occurring? Depending on the device the AirPods are connected to there may be a software update available.

Hey, thanks for the response. This “glitch” occurs with only my AirPods earbuds 2nd gen and it seems to happen when I’m listening to music on SoundCloud, others have experienced the “glitch” on other music streaming apps. I wouldn’t call it a issue or problem, I wish my AirPods sounded like that all the time, or there was a way to activate it.
I have a IPhone XR that I pair my AirPods to, I have 2nd generation AirPods that doesn’t have spatial audio feature. I am up to date on my updates. I don’t think the “glitch” I, and others are experiencing is a setting for the AirPods, but I’m wondering if there is a explanation on why this occurs or how to activate it.

Great question. You mentioned it happens when using SoundCloud. Just to confirm, this has never happened when using Apple Music? Also, does it appear to only happen when streaming music? If so, try connecting to a different network and let us know if the quality changes. Answers to these questions will help us isolate what exactly is happening.

I only use SoundCloud, but have heard people experiencing the cool “glitch” on other music streaming apps. When this glitch activates it will stay on the same sound setting no matter what app you are using, until you disconnect your AirPods it goes back to normal. Switching to a different network didn’t activate the cool sounding glitch that sometimes happens with my AirPods. I swear I’m not crazy! This glitch exists
