Can I use an iMac 2020 as a monitor for my Macbook Pro?

It seems that Target Display mode only works on old iMacs, and the Airplay to Mac function is too laggy to use the iMac as a reliable monitor. What's the best workaround? I've considered Luna Display, but that is a little pricey. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

That feature is being phased out and is no longer supported on recent MacBook Pro models:

The other Mac that you're connecting it to must have been introduced in 2019 or earlier and have macOS Catalina or earlier installed.
