The iPad serial number can be accessed - along with other details - from iPad settings:
Settings > General > About > Serial Number
You can also find device data listed from the device tab in your AppleID account. You can access your account using a web browser from any computer:
The Serial Number can also be found printed [very faintly] on the back of the iPad casing.
