Remote Desktop Problem with Monterey on new Macbook Air

I just got a new Macbook Air with M2 chip and Monterey OS. I never had a problem connecting my VPN to Microsoft Remote Desktop before. Now, I am consistently getting the "Unable to Connect" message in remote desktop even though VPN works fine. Any thoughts or ideas? Is this a specific issue related to the new OS or M2 chip?
