transfering old sim to new iphone 14

am I able to buy the new iPhone 14 through my old data plan on my service provider for a cheaper deal and transfer the old sim over or do I have to buy the phone and then just pair it with the new iPhone 14?

Hi,

Your SIM would not be compatible, due to the iPhone 14 not being compatible with physical SIM cards.

If you're purchasing the phone in the U.S., it will not have a SIM card slot. Your provider will set up the eSIM for you.
