Problem typing into Apple Music search field
Problem Typing into the Apple Music Searc… - Apple Community
I have been experiencing this same problem for the last six months. Won't let you type more than one character into search bar - if it lets you do that! It's like your keystroke takes the focus away from the search bar at time of / just after keystroke..
Very frustrating if you have some guests and late night jams and you have to silence the tunes - because as with previous poster the only remedy I have found is to close Music. I absolutely do not trust Music to not lose the Up Next selection when I quit and reenter, it's bad/buggy enough just when it is running. So very frustrating.
I thought it was related to my apple bt keyboard but doesn't help by disconnecting that.
Obviously not going to restore entire computer for this issue as someone on previous thread recommended, not helpful:(
Have had issue on previous MacBook Pro and brand new MacBook Air.
Common software running at most times (on both previous and current computer) are Music (obv), Tidal, Airfoil, Evernote, Safari, and sometimes Chrome, and in menu bar Freespace, Magnet, Battery Monitor. And multiple desktops. I mention these because it almost feels like some sort of hotkey error that bumps you out of and back into Music (but definitely not pressing Command etc). My next thing to try is going to be closing Evernote, and 12.5.1 but think this is more likely Apple Music specific system issue.
Hope someone can help. Given this laptop is only a few days old I assume this isn't an uncommon issue.
