Y do I have to be on Wi-Fi to back up my stuff?

Because backups can't take up a ton of data and unless you have unlimited cellular data can eat through it and easily cause overcharges on your cellular account.

Also, because unless you have a really good and fast cellular connection it will take ages to complete the backup and can easily be cut off while doing it, and cause a corrupted backup.
