Yes. You can update iPhone 6s to the latest iOS software.

(Apple support's article iPhone models compatible with iOS 15.5 – Apple Support lists 6s).

You would need a strong wi-fi signal or service, (or to use a Mac or PC for the update)

and to turn off VPN and Hotspot if they are on

It is always wise to back-up everything on your iPhone (eg: to a computer) before you update your iPhone software.

That way you can recover anything if needed.

If you have plenty of storage space (at the least 7Gb free) for the update, you should not lose anything from your iPhone.

Apple freely provides software updates of the operating system. (Go to: Settings -> General -> Software Update.)
