Activation Lock

A few months back, I got an iPhone SE 2020 given to me for my birthday by my cousin, which was used. When I tried to put my stuff on there, there was an activation lock and my cousin forgot his email / password. I tried resetting what I thought was his email, but turns out it couldn't be used (although that was probably the last email on the phone). Anyone know how to fix this?

The original owner must release the Activation Lock using the Apple ID and Password that was used to set up the iPhone originally.

The phone is useless until this occurs.
