Screenshot on MackBook Air
I used to be able to screenshot on my MacBook Air, but now I can no longer do it. I have tried all 3 ways that Apple recommends to screenshot, but none of them work for me.

What happens instead?
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse or trackpad. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot named "Screen Shot...." followed by a date and time on your Desktop (or in recent macOS versions, a thumbnail image that can be dragged directly into the body of your reply text).
I have heard, but have no way to confirm, that Dropbox will intercept screenshots. If you use Dropbox investigate that possibility also.
