Why does my macbook pro beeps every minute?

My macbook is just over a year and a half old. It has suddenly started beeping every minute exactly. It is the same sound that it makes if I leave the charging dock plugged in after shutting down.

Other than the annoying beep every minute, everything seems to be working fine.

How do I shut off the beep?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

What is this—a third party " charging dock"...?

Try disconnecting any third party docks and compare your results.

you can try a SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Hello, yes, it is a third party dock. I only use this machine for work stuff and I've always left it plugged into the dock while working, so the charge has always been kept full. I noticed that when I'd shut down after a work session, the machine would beep in the same way. I figured it was because the battery was fully charged and when I'd unplug the dock while the machine was shut down, the beeping would stop.

Now, all of a sudden, it beeps every minute, even when I unplug from the doc and even when the machine is fully shut down and unplugged.

Am I supposed to let the battery run down a bit rather than keep it fully charged all the time?

The rule of thumb for notebook computers—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.

Take the Dock out of the equation if you have an issue and plug directly into the Mac.

If this does not sort the issue, try a safeboot to clear system cache files SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

For your third party Dock—If in doubt refer to the developers website; Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/compatibility/updates:
