Hi All
I have an Imac running Monterey 12.5.1. I just bought a new Samsung 2TB T7 Touch SSD. I want to format it in APFS but that option doesn't appear when I go to erase in Disk Utility. I attach a shot of what I see. Can you advise how I can fix this please?

Many thanks for this. I am doing everything right but there is no option in the pop up format box for APFS. Only the two Mac OS Extended ones. Should there not be an APFS option too as I am running Monterey?
It should be there the APFS Option but on the off chance - Reformat a HFS Journaled ( Not Case Sensitive ) with Scheme GUID Partition Map.
Then, repeat the procedure again and see of APFS / GUID is available
I don't know if the "touch" model may be an issue. but I do have two separate T7 "non-touch" SSDs. both of them first required formatting them as "Mac OS Extended (journaled)" before the option to format as APFS was even presented.
