Cant’t open links on messenger.

To clarify, are you referring to the native Apple Messages app or a third party installed application?

If you haven't already, try working through the steps to help with app issues here:

1. Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2. Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3. Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4. Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.

If you found the app on the App Store, contact the app developer. If the app is made by Apple or came with your iPhone or iPad, contact Apple Support for your iPhone or for your iPad.

I also have this issue. I’ve deleted and reinstalled. Signed out and back in. Restarted the phone and it hasn’t cleared it. I am on the latest iOS. It opens links on my iPad on the latest iOS.

In case the issue is happening with the Apple Messages app, does this occur with all links shared or just specific links? Is the link supposed to open Safari or another app?

Everyone I talk to has the same problem since last week

I can confirm the issue is resolved. The app needed manually updating as it didn’t appear in the list of available updates.

Worked for me too. If you swipe the screen from up to down when in the updates page of Appstore, all available updates will appeat. Don’t know why though.
