Mac mini does not see my SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB inside my Satechi Type-C Stand & Hub with SSD Enclosure

I just got the

Satechi Type-C Stand & Hub with SSD Enclosure and added a 2TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD drive. It's plugged into the USB-C port in the back of my Mac Mini M1.

Why am I not able to access the SSD drive?

You need to first erase the new SSD using Disk Utility before a new drive can be used with macOS. The file system used depends on how you are going to use the SSD.

Have you verified that the enclosure, Mac, and NVMe card are stated as compatible with the manufacturer?

Not all NVMe, enclosure, and computer combinations are compatible, in particular I have seen a few enclosure manufacturers stating that the 970 EVO Plus as being problematic not only with Macs but with PCs as well. Even within the Apple lines, some combinations on some Mac models work amazingly and on other Mac models are not even recommended.
