Frustrations submitting map corrections

Has anyone else had frustrating experiences submitting map corrections? I generally submit via the OS X app, just because it's simpler to do so.

A few weeks ago I noticed that the location given for a local farmers' market was wrong--the actual location was on the north side of a large road, in the parking lot of a commuter rail road (the Maps location pinned it across the street, on the south side of the same road, inside a 7-11). I moved the pin to the proper place and submitted it.

Weeks later I was notified that my correction had been published. I looked it up, and somehow they'd moved the market more than 80 miles eastward, not only in the wrong town but in the wrong county.

This is not the first time I've had this sort of thing happen--and because it's happened before, I'm triply-careful when I submit these corrections. This never happens when I make Google Maps corrections, only Apple Maps. Anyone here experiencing similar issues?

I think people who make a correction and see it correctly changed probably don’t complain about it. Still others never double check. I know I don’t. I don’t use maps for local activities so I don’t know if it is correct or not. But when I see and report an error, it is usually while travelling so I never bother to double check.

Also, Apple really isn’t strong about incorporating user feedback. That’s not necessarily a bad thing either. When you submit these reports to Google and Apple, you are doing their quality control for them. You are working, for free, for the two of the world’s largest and wealthiest corporations. Generally speaking, Google does seem to value that kind of Free Labour more than Apple.

I'd totally forgotten about the submission, but (to my surprise) I received a Notification that Maps had been updated with it (I do have Notifications turned on for Maps, but I didn't realize that would include submitted corrections). The Notification included a link to the correction so I checked; they had changed the location, but it went from being wrong because it was across the street to being wrong by being 80 miles away.

I'm not trying to make money for Apple by adding the submission, just trying to help support a local market by making it easier to find.
