I used my old iMac 27 (2013) as display with my MacBook Pro (2017) and it worked great. Now I have the new MacBook Air and I cannot connect to the iMac anymore. Would a Display port (e.g. I-tec dual display) work?

Thank you, understood. So external display port boxes that have processors and software to enable 2 or 3 Displays don’t help I guess?
How can I use my iMac (27, 2013) as monitor with MacBook Air M2 (2022)? It seems that only works with MacBooks from before 2019? Would a separate display port work?
