You can check if the subscription is still active using the following steps:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Subscriptions.
4. Tap the subscription.
5. Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled.
If the subscription already appears to be cancelled there, do you know if you have multiple Apple ID's? Its possible you may have a second subscription on another Apple ID. You'd sign in to that Apple ID and follow those same steps to cancel the subscription.
If you're still unable to cancel or locate an active subscription, contact Apple Support directly for assistance.
