Timestamp on iOS Message app

Hi, does anyone know the actual time the iOS Message app waits after a message to display a new timestamp in a conversation? I read somewhere that it was around 15 minutes and from my experience, it appears to be true, but does anyone knows that for sure. I'm pretty sure there has to be a specific number of minutes after last message received to display a new timestamp.

Thanks!

Hello Mturbide,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If we understand your post correctly, you want to know how long it takes for the timestamp in a conversation to appear because your's has taken 15 minutes. We'd like to help!

To see what time a message was sent or received, drag the message bubble to the left.
