Safari won’t open links from constant contact emails

I’ve seen several other questions about this and the answers are always to restart safari and that does not work. I cannot open any links from an email on my iPhone. I have tracked the problem specifically to those emails that are coming through constant contact emails. Constant contact uses rs20.rs6.net as the beginning of their redirect to track link clicking and safari just says “safari cannot open this link because the server cannot be found”. I don’t care about most mailing lists but my son’s school also uses constant contact and it is very annoying not to be able to follow any of the links to materials they are sending me. Please fix this, there are so many other complaints about this problem in the forum.

this is also true when I try to open the same links in my Mac computer or my iPad. It’s a safari issue not a device issue.

My exact experience. My kid's school uses them and they are sending newsletters and updates everyday and I can't open links in Safari (my default browser). On the same computer, if I copy and paste the link manually in Chrome, it works. But this is an issue I need a solution for.

Details:

  1. Macbook M1 (2020)
  2. Has all latest updates
  3. No Content Blockers
  4. Firewall is off
  5. I have toggled DNS between 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4 and the router DNS
  6. I have power cycled modem and router
  7. I even reset safari with the Developer Menu

No success anywhere. The problem still persists.

I hope we can get a fix. I also called Constant Contact. They are tone deaf and they do not hear what I'm trying to explain. They are unhelpful. Their knowledge base is also unhelpful

Thanks everyone,

Jason

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.
