Apple Watch

Hi I have an iPhone 13 which am trying to connect to my Apple Watch but it keeps coming up saying check that am connected to the internet, which my iPhone is but I don’t no weather the Watch is connected as I can’t get on the Home Screen on the watch to see if it’s connected to the internet, how do I connect the watch
