Calendar not showing repeat events beyond a few weeks (even when end date is set later in the future)
Device - Mid 2013 MacBook Air
MacOS - 11.6.8
Apple Calendar - Version 11.0 (2811.5.1)
Note - this was a Q in 2021. The recommended troubleshooting offered to that user did not work for me. The user was advised to go to a standard Apple Support page with various bullets of possible causes. None worked for me. I've experienced this issue for years through multiple versions of MacOS.
ISSUE - I have events calendared via Apple Calendar (with family sharing) that are set to repeat with a specific end date. Sometimes, the event stops appearing in Apple Calendar after numerous weeks or months even though no one has made any changes. If I check my iPhone, the event is there, displayed correctly.
Other times, I change the end date because the event has been extended. After making the change, the event suddenly displays correctly in Apple Calendar. Then, after a period of days or weeks, I'll look at Apple Calendar and it has again stopped displaying.....BUT continues to appear correctly on my iPhone. If I click into the last displayed occurrence of the event on Apple Calendar and check the repeat end date, it shows correctly.
The only work around I've found is to simply edit the event at its last displayed occurrence --I change the end date and make it equal to that last displayed occurrence. I then create a new repeating event from there.....lots of headaches.
This issue makes it difficult to trust Apple Calendar without constantly double-checking devices.
HELP !!!!!!!!!! Apple, I love you, but this is truly aggravating.
