iMac and MacBook Pro running different OS

I have an older iMac running Catalina and a more recent MacBook Pro, also running Catalina. I would like to upgrade the OS on the MBP but can't on the iMac—Catalina is as far as it will go, but it's running like a top on an external SSD.

Will native apps like Notes, Reminders, Contacts, Mail, Calendar, etc still sync up automatically? My MBP is eligible to upgrade to Monterey (altho' I have to check Adobe's Creative Cloud compatibility first as I work primarily in that set of apps).

Thank you for your response.
