Pages app does not work on iPad

THIS APP IS BROKEN. I start typing a story and after several sentences the app freezes completely. It does not accept input; I cannot navigate anywhere else. First I used the Note Taking template, which froze three times. Then I tried the blank template, which again froze after a couple paragraphs. In between times, I removed Pages from memory by swiping it up from the multitasking pages.


What is up? Why do I see a lot of very old posts with iPad-related problems to Pages? Is this not important to Apple?

This page here helps to provide a handful of steps that can assist with apps becoming unresponsive: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open


This will involve things like force closing the app and relaunching it, restarting the device, deleting the app and reinstalling it.
